Baby showers are all about having some fun and celebrating the impending arrival of a new baby!
This is the ideal time to feel showered with love by your friends and family, and have a lot of laughs in the process. But remember, baby showers don’t have to be complicated! Simply select a few of our baby shower games and your guests are sure to have a wonderful time.
Here are 5 games to ensure that you have the best time at your baby shower - whether you’re the guest of honor or in charge of organizing, we’ve made it easy for you.
1. A baby shower ice breaker
Before the baby shower, take your guest list and find out one interesting or fun fact about each person. You could ask them directly or keep it a secret to make the game more interesting!
Place a printout of your list of facts on each seat, and allow your guests time at the beginning of the baby shower to try and guess who the fact belongs to by writing names on the sheet of paper.
The person that gets the most right wins the game!
2. Guess the…
You could host an entire, day-long baby shower using only ‘guess the…’ games, there are just so many!
Here are just a few ideas for ‘guess the…’ games:
- Weight
- Date
- Height
- Baby photo (using baby photos of each guest)
You could give each guest a piece of paper that they can use to write their guesses, or alternatively, use a stylish blackboard as a way to present the answers!
If you use a chalk pen, a blackboard can make a wonderful baby-shower keepsake.
3. Don’t say “baby”
On arrival, give each guest 3 stickers or pins to attach to their top.
There’s one rule, and the rule is - don’t say “baby”!
Every time someone says the word baby, they must remove a pin or sticker from their top. The winner is the last person to lose all of their “lives”!
4. Baby and spoon race
Provide each guest with an egg and a sharpie, and ask them to decorate their egg to look like a baby.
Then have everyone take part in an egg and spoon race! This game is best played outdoors...
5. Change the diaper
For this game, you’ll need:
- Diapers
- Baby wipes
- Blanket
- 2 dolls
Divide your guests into two teams, then ask them to create two long lines facing one another. Give the first team member of each row a doll with a nappy on, wrapped in a blanket, along with a pack of baby wipes and enough diapers for each team member.
When the timer starts, the first team member must change the baby’s diaper - including cleaning them with a cloth and placing them back in the blanket - before passing the baby, diapers, and wipes to the next team member!
The first team whose members each change the diaper and wrap the baby in the blanket wins!
You might like to appoint somebody to ensure that there is no cheating on either team…
